An Autonomous mining maintenance robot was sent to a planet 200000 light years away from its planet of origin. They gained sentience, ended up founding a civilization there, and became a guide/diety to the people. They stayed on that planet for a million years, guiding the civilization rather than doing any mining, and helped the civilization become space-faring. Eventually, their civilization of origin comes to check up and is surprised to see Torrell still functioning.
